This might be the world’s sixth tallest building in the world, but the tour’s not going to take the entire day. This 45-minute tour gives you the chance to go up to the Petronas Tower Skybridge which connects Tower 1 and Tower 2 and lets you see the amazing view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. At the beginning of the tour, a hologram of a lady greets the visitors before the group is led by an actual person into an elevator going up to the floor where the Skybridge is. After 15 minutes in the Skybridge, the group moves up to the Observation Deck where tall windows allow visitors to get another good view of the city. The Observation Deck also houses about three different models of the Petronas Towers.
The Petronas Twin Towers tour costs MYR 50.00 per person with ten different schedules from 09:00 AM until 06:15 PM, daily except Mondays and Holidays. After the first scheduled tour of the day, each tour time slot begins 15 minutes after the preceding one starts. Tickets to the tour are only limited to about 300 persons every day, and although ticket window opens at 8 AM, there’ll be a long line of people waiting to get tickets at 06:30 AM.
When the tour is over, there is a souvenir shop just outside the lobby and the skyscraper also has a shopping mall called Suria KLCC where expensive names such as Gucci can be bought.
See the Batu Caves
Climbing the 272 steps up to the mouth of the Batu Caves is worth it once you see view from the top. Besides the gigantic, gold-painted statue of the Hindu Lord Murugan, monkeys never fail to greet the visitors outside the Batu Caves. The inside of the Batu Caves is well-lit and houses a Hindu temple that is still being used today, as well as a few stores that sell drinks, food, and souvenir items. Stalactites drape from the high ceiling of the Batu Caves as limestone covers the wall. Several statues of Hindu deities can be found inside the caves.
Race at the Singapore International Circuit
You can head to the Sepang International Circuit during the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix season and watch the race live. The Sepang International Circuit is about 45-minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur City Center by train and bus – you need to take both unless you ride a cab or private transpo.
Tickets to the F1 Malaysian Grand Prix are said to be the cheapest among all the 0 international Formula 1 races.
Besides the Formula 1 Grand Prix, other races like MotoGP and the Sepang Drag Battle are held in the Circuit too.
Be Superman for Five Minutes in the Genting Highlands
Riding the Flying Coaster at the Outdoor Theme Park in Genting Highlands will give you that Superman-feeling as you go up and down the rails in a prone lying position. If that doesn’t sound thrilling enough for you, take the Space Shot ride. In this ride, get buckled up and wait to take the plunge. If you think getting suspended in the air isn’t your thing, try go -karting for some fun in the Genting Highland’s Outdoor Theme Park’s mini indoor racetrack.
The park also has classic rides like the merry-go-round and Ferris Wheel, and food stores too.
Shop at Petaling Street
This busy China Town street has some cool designer handbags and purses that anyone can afford. Yes, these are replicas of the original, but come on, not everyone will now it’s only a replica. The stalls also have shirts and shoes in all sizes. There are also stalls that sell Kuala Lumpu keychains and other souvenir items for a cheaper price compared to souvenir shops.
